Keith Mullins is as diverse a musician as any other. His latest and generous double release of two albums truly flexes the might of the East Coast musical master. Howlin' at the Moon is an alt-folk, story driven album of 11 tracks with all the vim and vigour of the east coast legends that inspired it. Its title track reads like an instruction manual on good natured fun and rebellion. Its an infectious uplifting tune that will be heard in pubs and concert halls throughout the east coast for years to come. Love will conquer all is a warming anthem for togetherness. Its chorus melts like candy in your mind and anyone listening will surely find their troubles melt away. The sound is a beautiful arrangement and ode to Alexander Graham Bell and wife Mable.
The song simply feels like a warm fire crackling its way into your heart. Dead mans pond is an old school, bluesy toe tapper that will send you back in time. Its deep guitar tones and forewarning lyrics will have you feeling like a whisky at high noon on horse back.
Waiting for something is a deeply haunted journey that reminds us all that we can be in the driver seat if we so choose. Matt Andersen provides an equally haunting guitar accompaniment that helps the track sink its teeth into your soul.
The rest of the album has some excellent tracks inspired by local legends, great friends and the east coast good times shared by us all.

Love Will Conquer All
Written by Keith Mullins
I want this feeling forever
My heart beating fast
Filled with butterflies
I'm nervous, will it last
Will this love conquer all
Its amazing that this life is
Keeping me on my toes
Pushing me in this direction
That I'm willing to follow
Cause love will conquer all
We know that love will conquer all
Inhibitions, traditions
Guilt and religion
Boundaries and decisions
Tell me what it is your wishing
Things in the way
of what matters the most
Don't worry about the past
Let go of those ghosts
Love will conquer all
We know that love will conquer all
We know that love will conquer all
We know that love will conquer all
I want it like this forever
my heart beating fast
filled with butterflies
I'm nervous will it last
Howlin' at the Moon
Written by Keith Mullins and Adam MacKay
We painted bridges
Just for laughs
A moonlit canvass
Had a blast
The stolen booze
On summer nights
Bonfires blazed
Til daylight
I'm surprised
We all survived
We were downright evil
But good inside
We found this light
By blurring lines
And howling at the moon
In the middle of the night
Telling lies
Got no regrets
Smoking grass
And all your cigarettes
Last thing you'd want
From a badge and a gun
Sorry ma'am
Is this your son
CHORUS
We're saints, we're sinners
We're losers we're winners
We're good and We're bad
We're free and we're prisoners
I did what I did
And I'd do it again
And I'd sit back
And remember when
Its all deserved
Its bittersweet
You dandelion
Through the concrete
So leave your roots
Off we go
To blossom somewhere
And forever grow
CHORUS
The Sound
Written by Keith Mullins and Jody Nelson
Listening for your frequency
Testing testing 1,2,3
In making something right you need to make mistakes
When the kite falls the heart breaks
Listen to the sound ringing through the air
It's keeping me up, getting there
I can hear the sound, it's calling me
on the banks of Beinn Bhreagh
some walk through their lives with eyes closed
so easy to take the open road
leave the beaten track, occasionally
go into the woods and then we
CHORUS
In my calculations
I have found that
that there is mystery
All around
Most importantly
Improve upon
Everything you see
CHORUS
Never Come Around
Written by Keith Mullins and Adam MacKay
Curtain's up, I'll paint a scene
The love, the hate, the in between
It'll set you up
To face the crowd
But life's a bitch and the curtains down
Waking up in an empty bed
Thoughts of you running round my head
The sun is up
The coffee's on
There's enough for two
But you're still gone
I've been waiting for something to never come around
Went all in i could lose the bet
You called my bluff but I ain't done yet
Sometimes you win
Sometimes you lose
The life you get
Is the life you choose
I've been waiting for something to never come around
Lights stuck on red, but I'm driving through
Leave who I was in the rearview
Listening for a voice of reason
But it says hey when are you leaving
Another night, another town
Another drink to wash it down
Try to live with no regrets
Try to forgive, try to forget
Shine
Written by Keith Mullins and Adam MacKay
Everyone's got a tale to tell
The fabric is made and woven well
We're in this together, we're there to help
Whoa, whoa
Where there's a spark, let it ignite
Each one inspired and burning bright
Everyone comes to see the light
Feel that flame and let it shine
We pass all traditions on
We thank the stars that we wish upon
We love we learn, we go beyond
Whoa whoa
Where there's a spark, let it ignite
Each one inspired and burning bright
Everyone comes to see the light
Feel that flame and let it shine
Let it shine
A belly full is a heart strong
No matter where your coming from
You give us strength to carry on
Where there's a spark, let it ignite
Each one inspired and burning bright
Everyone comes to see the light
Feel the flame and let it shine
The Rivermower
Written by Keith Mullins and Steven Bowers
Every day when I wake up
I head out to see the birds
They've got so much to tell me
But there's never any words
And we just sit beside the river in the morning
Trying to see something pretty
I don't know the constellations
But sometimes I make my own
Ones a silver starfish
Ones a chicken bone
I spend my nights out here counting stars on the swamp road
Going down to the river
Trying to see something pretty
Whoa oh oh trying to see something pretty
I'm no mechanic
But I can fire up the truck
With a little bit of ether
And a whole lotta of luck
But I got nowhere to take'er
So I hope I get stuck
Going down to the river, to see something pretty
I grew up on these lands, I'm grateful and proud
I like to spend my time just moving some ground
The kids go down at night I like to keep em out of trouble
I keep the path clear and I'll clean up all their bottles
Then I'll put 'em in the shed and I'll save em all up
Going down to the river, trying to see something pretty
Never Separate
Written by Keith Mullins
Me and you
We’re the same
In all of those ways
We’re still perfect and flawed
We both knew
All this time
But we get so wrapped up
As the time flies on
We created this thing that’s too easy now
Preparing for life when it’s hard
Moving on, letting go, heavy weight
Further from you but never apart
You can never separate
The wings from the blood and the heart
Like the wind
Carries on
We’re catching on our breath, holding on til we’re blue
Did I say enough
Or way too much
Well my life would never be the same without you
We created this thing that’s too easy now
Preparing for life when it’s hard
Moving on, letting go, heavy weight
Further from you but never apart
You can never separate
The wings from the blood and the heart
Where the Rivers Meet the Ocean
Written by Keith Mullins with the help of students at Tatamagouche
We're edging forward on this ship built by our past
The winds are changing but our sails are tied steadfast
We're charting uncertain waters, but we won't be turning back
Cause we've weathered storms, conquered seas, and this is where we're at
The leaves are falling as the sunrise leads our way
Off in the distance hope lies on the bay
United by the trust that still holds strong today
We've weathered storms, conquered seas, and together we remain
Cause I'll be where the rivers meet the ocean
This is how these memories are made
And when the rivers meet the ocean
That's the time, you'll find me in this place
There's history in our waters
There's music in the air
There's a feeling that you can't forget
Inspiration everywhere
If we waiver from our course
If the wind leads us astray
Those memories are like beacons
We'll always find a way
Deadman's Pond
Written by Keith Mullins and Jordan Coaker
Where I'm from
We don't like to talk about
What lies
In the depths below
What they do
To murderers and thieves
Gone without a trace
Only few men know
No matter how low, how low you go
You can never reach the bottom
Of dead man's pond
They'll put you in a barrel, they'll put you in a barrel
Roll you down the signal
Into dead man's pond
Word to the wise
If you sneak a little whisky now
You're flirting
With an outlaw life
They will come
Pull you from a slumber
Hang you in the narrows
In the middle of the night
CHORUS
when walking thin ice, on a cold black night, better step light, careful with yourself
you might slip in, where the dark begins, then you're on a path to the gateway to hell
CHORUS
Thick as Thieves
Written by Keith Mullins
Rained down hard felt dark and gray
Pouring on me in a bad way
Like the sun she shone through unexpectedly
That girl stole my heart, got away scott free
Now we’re Thick as thieves with stolen hearts
The hijacked honey is the sweetest by far
Just like I’m singing my addictions on a swindled guitar
We’re thick as thieves with stolen hearts
She tore down my walls, And I shed the weight
I was all locked up until she opened the gate
Went from holding my breath to sealing my fate
Wouldn’t have it any other way
My partner in crime, I’m afraid
Bit bad by love in a good way
If there’s something in the world we can trust
Its a bond so tight when almost all is lost
Now she knows all my deep secrets
Even if the cops pushed for one, she’d still keep it
Stars and Sparks
Written by Keith Mullins and Adam MacKay
Woke up from a haze, had a dream last night
Down by the water, best night of my life
Can't help but wish we were back there again
Stars and sparks, dancing in the sky
Stoking flames for the light inside
If you only knew where dreams were made
If you only knew where dreams were
Crashing waves whispering in my ear
An ocean song to wash away our fears
A beacon, a hope, guide my way
CHORUS
I'll never ever forget this time
The salt in the air, our paradise
We followed our hearts, followed our dreams
This is the place we're meant to be
This is the place we'll see the
CHORUS
Stories and songs on a moonlit lake
Call it what you want, I'll call it fate
If you only knew where dreams were made
If you only knew where dreams were made
